  • Bittersweet Birthday

Today me & the kids went to visit the cemetery to honor YM's 38th birthday.  It's hard celebrating birthdays of the deceased.  It's supposed to be a joyous event to celebrate someone's birth, but how do you celebrate it when they are taken from this life on earth?  All I can do is say a prayer thanking the Lord that 38 yrs ago, he brought YM to this earth for a purpose.  And even though he may not be here physically to blow out candles, eat cake, & be merry, God can continually do his work to further His kingdom through the memory of YM.  So with that heart, I send birthday wishes to heaven.

    Dear Ann,

Praying for you always.  Thinking of you many times.  Believe it or not, even though you're the one asking for encouragement, guidance, wisdom and strength, you are giving it yourself by your constant reminder of how much you/we need Him and how we can get that peace and strength by seeking Him and calling on Him!!  Thank you!  May the Lord give you ALL that you need....when you need it!! God bless you and your little ones....always! Praying that your back will heal completely, too.

P.S. I was especially touched where you said this: "All I can do is say a prayer thanking the Lord that 38 yrs ago, he brought YM to this earth for a purpose."  To accept YM's death and, at the same time, acknowledge that the Lord brought him to this earth for a "purpose," albeit for only 36 years.  What an attitude of acceptance of God's sovereignty.....despite how much you miss YM. And, I DO feel that God will continue to do His work to further His kindom through YM's death! YM was an awesome man of God and such an example of Christ.  He will be used and remembered!!  Your children will continue to learn what a wonderful Christian father they had and I think it will make them strong.  Thank you........
